Vintage Chinese Carved Shou Royal Blue Lapiz Lazuli Necklace 20 Inches Length

Beautiful Vintage Chinese Hand Carved Art Deco Style Royal Blue Lapis Lazuli Beaded Necklace with genuine undyed natural vintage Lapis Lazuli beads including hand carved focal beads graduating in size then finished with a gold filled metal clasp with safety latch and small gold filled metal bead spacers. There is some slight natural color variance in the lapis beads which are hand knotted with dark blue cord. The metal clasp is a filigree design with fish hook safety catch and hallmarked 14/20 reflecting it's 14 karat gold plated metal. In very good condition with no damage.

It measures 20 inches in length and weighs in at 67.1 grams. The beads have a lovely sheen to them. The largest bead size is 17 mm graduating down to 8 mm. Lapis Lazuli is a deep blue semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense color. In ancient China, Chinese Royalty were the only ones who were allowed to possess and wear lapis as well as coral and pearls, so it's been a cherished commodity.
