An authentic Chinese Imperial treasure seal painting from the Chan Temple of Putuo of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara(Guanyin). This extremely rare painting comes from the Chan Temple of Putuo stamped with the Imperial Treasure Seal. The ink painting depicts Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara(Guanyin) resting while holding a plant in one hand. She appears with a Sun halo behind her head, Guaynyin is painted with a young child at the feet, There is also a dove flying towards Guanyin with pearls in its beak. This piece appears to date around the Ming and/or an earlier period. This magnificent piece may have belonged to the Qing Emperor Qianlong. The damaged border/margin can easily be preserved by placing the art in a frame with complementary matting, If you are interested, I can have the art professionally placed in a museum frame and matted which will cause the price to increase substantially.
