This is a very fine Guangxu Imperial medium size bowl with decoration of nicely shaded flowers x five, the interior with a similar decoration in the cavetto. The scroll work is described as silkworm coil and is often seen on archaic bronzes. I believe that this pattern is described in the Imperial. List of 1900 but not known;well here it is.
The flower is either the pomegranate or the lotus flower both have five attributes represented by the five flowers around the exterior and in the cavetto. The underglaze blue mark shows distinct hollow line a feature of the mid19thc to late Qing where the blue shows a flow to the sides showing what appears to be lines either side of the stroke. The bubble formation is very good and varied in depth. The bowl has a diameter of 5.75 in 13.5 cm.
X 2.75 in 6 cm. High and is in mint condition though has two very small losses of green enamel. This item is in the category "Antiques\Asian Antiques\China\Bowls".
