Guangxu Doucai Imperial mark & Period Bowl
This is a very rare bowl the pattern originating in the Yongzheng (see Christies Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art lot 1312 20 sep 2013). The pattern a rare Imperial pattern continued right throughout the Qing but the latest example I can find is Daoguang and the quality not as good. Unlike most doucai where the red lotus blossoms would be outlined in underglaze blue, on these it is outlined in a very fine dark iron red with the blossoms beautifully shaded. The images show the Da character exhibiting typical late 19thc hollow line, in this case more split, seen often on Guangxu and slightly earlier and later pieces. The nien hao is superbly written as one would expect with such an exceptional item.

The bowl has a diameter of 14.5 cm 5 3/4 in and stands 6 cm 2 3/8 cm tall. I must apologise to any who were watching this at a lower price but it is much rarer than I originally thought. This item is in the category "Antiques\Asian Antiques\China\Bowls". The seller is "merharba1" and is located in this country: NZ.
