This is a gorgeous portrait, traditionally done in ink on silk mounted on paper, a very beautiful old painting, depicting a warrior or a royal family member, in a natural scene, viewed from the terrace of a palace. Traditional Chinese archery has played a pivotal role in Chinese society, in ancient Chinese culture and philosophy. Archery was one of the Six Noble Arts of the Zhou dynasty (1146256 BCE); archery skill was a virtue for a Chinese emperor! In this beautiful silk artwork, we can see the very impressive portrait of a yang emperor, nobility or warrior, proud of his and traditional bow and arrow, costume and equipment associated with old archery. Signature is on the upper right side but unfortunately we cannot read this language! SMALL SIZE: The frame measures 13 x 11 inches. Image area is 7 X 5 IN.

USED CONDITION: VERY GOOD for its old age, with minor imperfections, nothing really noticeable! The painting shows tiny signs of age wear. You are aware that this item itself cannot be perfect due to its old age- SEE PICTURES! However, it is certainly largely intact and still a gorgeous piece! REALLY VERY BEAUTIFUL ON THE WALL!!!
